GI C-Lip Channel Base Plate

Where C-lip base plates are used

C-lip channel, a C section with its edges turned in, is widely used in solar mounting structures because it is stiff for its weight. This base plate is sized for 80×40 C-lip channel and fits our 80×40 GI rafters.

It is 2.5 mm GI sheet with a 50 µm zinc coat: a U-shaped holder with slotted holes, on a flat plate with holes for the anchors.

Installation notes

Anchor the plate into an RCC slab or a concrete pedestal with wedge anchors, or with rawl bolts in concrete and solid masonry. Check that the plates are level and in line before bolting the channel in; the slots leave a little room to adjust.

Use galvanized nut bolt sets for the channel, so the joint doesn't rust before the plate does.
